Rehabilitation of the Compagnons du Devoir centre of excellence

The Training and Accommodation Centre in Pantin showcases the expertise of the Compagnons du Devoir, welcoming all visitors and serving as a hub for knowledge exchange and sharing.
The multiplicity of functions "sleeping", "feeding", "studying", "working", in the same existing envelope was a great challenge for us.

CoBe - Pantin Maisons des Compagnons du Devoir

The project aims to radically change the image of the existing building by giving it the status of a building of outstanding public interest in this industrial sector of the city.

CoBe - Poissy écoquartier Rouget-de-Lisle

The body of the building is covered with a metal mesh: this second skin makes it possible to erase the very repetitive aspect of the existing architecture, to introduce a play of modulation in a rigid framework, and to affirm its stature.
In this way, the Maison des Compagnons, designed as a facility in the city, plays its full role as a signal: the double skin diffuses the interior light, like a "lantern" to welcome the visitor.
