Drinking water production plant - Villejean (35)

Restructuring a drinking water production plant

The Villejean drinking water production plant is the largest in Brittany. It alone produces 80,000 m³ of drinking water a day, enough to fill 32 Olympic-size swimming pools. The water that comes out of here supplies hundreds of thousands of people, not forgetting the many companies, particularly in the food industry, for whom water supplies are vital. As a result, the plant is classified as a sensitive site and is subject to numerous safety measures.

Restructuring the plant involved modernising the existing installations to improve water quality, constructing new buildings to accommodate new functions, and building a new cover for one of the existing basins without relying on its original structure.
