Setting a development in its geography
The Jean-Jaurès market square is a strategic point, marking the entrance to the city centre. Today, this square is entirely dedicated to cars and its contours are mainly constrained by the RD229 road. By consulting the various historical plans, comparing them with more recent plans and noting the evolution of the urban fabric, we found the main lines that orient and guide our proposal.
The contours of the square are concentrated in the middle of the space to give it its full intensity. The base of the hall reveals the slight slope of the ground through its horizontality. Slender lines of trees punctuate the space and extend the framework of the trees in the neighbouring park. They thus determine a quality void ready to accommodate a small market hall which participates in the animation of this space, on market days as on other days.
