Urban coordination and project management of public spaces in the Pantinoises district

Nestled between an emblematic city (Les Courtillières), a suburban district, faubourian buildings, a stadium and a busy national road (N2), the parcel of land north of Pantin at the corner of rue Edouard Renard and avenue Jean Jaurès raises a real question: How to create a dense urban development project that enhances the heterogeneity of the surrounding urban fabric? How to succeed in the challenge of bringing in new inhabitants by creating an attractive and radiant site?

This project implies thinking up a new model whose urban quality, in connection with its environment, federates the neighbourhood by allowing everyone to benefit from existing assets (facilities, schools, university, the new Grand Paris train station).

To address this issue, we have designed a new neighbourhood with a strong identity, the layout of which stands out from the surrounding developments:
a large open island with a «diagonal» running the length of it.
This partly pedestrianised route offers a number of advantages. Residents will be able to use this shortcut to get to the future Grand Paris metro station located nearby (400m). It will also provide internal access to blocks of buildings of varying volumes and heights, thus enhancing the quality of residents' addresses.
This diagonal joins the N2 at the corner of the ASPTT sports grounds.
This is where we have positioned the outpatient medical centre, which has a single volume, a large health centre.
Our perspective is based on the creation of large landscaped areas and variety in the volumes, shapes and heights of the buildings. The multitude of gardens that will directly benefit the housing on the ground floors is a reflection of the quality of the gardens of the adjacent suburban fabric.
